Ingredients for Kadhai Paneer:

For kadhai masala:

  1. Coriander seeds: 1 tsp

  2. Cumin seeds: ½ tsp

  3. Black pepper: ¼ tsp

  4. Kashmiri red chilly: 1 piece

For onion tomato paste:

  1. Olive oil: 1 tsp

  2. Garlic clove (crushed): 2 piece

  3. Onion (chopped): 1 small piece

  4. Tomato (chopped): 1 small piece

  5. Ginger (grated): ½ tsp

For kadhai paneer gravy:

  1. Butter: 1 tbsp

  2. Bay leaf: 1 piece

  3. Dried fenugreek leaves: ½ tsp

  4. Onion petals: ¼ piece (small sized)

  5. Bell pepper (cubed): ½ piece (small sized)

  6. Turmeric powder: 1 pinch

  7. Red chilly powder: ¼ tsp

  8. Paneer (cubed): 150 grams

  9. Garam masala: 1 pinch

  10.  Coriander leaves (chopped): 1 tbsp

  11.  Salt to taste

 

 Instructions for Kadhai Paneer:

  1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a frying pan and add garlic, ginger and onion to it. Saute for 2 minutes and add chopped tomato to it.

  2. You can add a pinch of salt here for fast cooking. Saute until the tomato becomes mushy. Let it cool and then blend to a smooth paste. Keep aside.

  3. Dry roast all the spices for kadhai masala for 1 minute. Make powder with the help of a grinder. Keep it aside.

  4. Heat butter in the same frying pan and saute bay leaf and dried fenugreek leaves until aromatic. Further add onion petals and cubed bell pepper.

  5. Add turmeric and chilly powder. Further add tomato onion paste and mix well. 

  6. Also add prepared kadhai masala and mix well. Saute until the masala paste starts releasing oil. 

  7. Manage the consistency by adding water. Now add cubed paneer and mix gently. 

  8. Cover and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat. Now add garam masala powder and chopped coriander leaves, mix well and serve hot with roti or paratha.
