1. Moong dal: 40 grams
2. Brown rice: 40 grams
3. Ghee
4. Cumin seeds
5. Turmeric powder
6. Water
7. Salt to taste
1. Wash the moong dal and rice together in cold water until the water runs clear.
2. In a pressure cooker, heat the ghee over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
3. Add the washed moong dal and rice to the pressure cooker. Mix well with the ghee and cumin seeds.
4. Add turmeric powder, salt, and enough water to cover the ingredients.
5. Close the pressure cooker lid and cook on high heat for 3 whistles.
6. Let the pressure release naturally before opening the lid.
7. Fluff up the khichdi with a fork and serve hot with yogurt or pickle.
