  • Introduction: Calves are one of those muscles of our body which don’t grow easily but seated calve raises is one of those exercises which will help you grow your calves effectively.
  • Difficulty: Beginner
  • Equipment: Machine
  • Steps involved:
  1. Get comfortable on the machine, then place your thighs under the padded lever. Place your feet onto the foot support.
  2. Hold the grips tightly to prevent the weights slipping in front. Lower the weights and extend your calf to the maximum.
  3. Push your heels uplifting the padded lever and hold the contracted position, then slowly lower back down to the starting position. Repeat.
  • Do’s:
  1. Keep the reps slow and controlled.
  2. Limit momentum and pause at the top to focus on the contraction of calves.
  3. Use balls of foot to move rather than using the base of toes.
  4. Limit depth of heels if you feel any stretch while moving your feet down.
  • Don’ts:
  1. Don’t move your feet with the momentum.
  2. Don’t use other leg muscles to raise the machine.
  3. Avoid heavyweights
